New Vintage Release Almaviva 2008

For those who have tasted Almaviva, you will know the depth and quality of this Chilean wine. Almaviva is formed under the marriage of Baron Philippe de Rothschild (owners of Bordeaux Premier Grand Cru estate, Chateau Mouton Rothschild) and Vina Concha y Toro.

The synthesis of French tradition and Chilean soil has delivered an exceptional wine embodying the best of both worlds, a Primer Orden that really shines.

We are pleased to announce the release of this wonderful 2008 vintage (12th vintage) in the place of Bordeaux, just yesterday evening. Thus, continuing the series of successful vintages for this icon, capturing the world through elegance & complexity but with a distinct Maipo profile.

Though lack of an official score at this moment, Almaviva has consistently scored well over the years, and we expect a great rating, considering the strong 2008 vintage in Chile

Rhone 2007 The Best Vintage in Rhone's History

"This is a truly historic and profoundly great vintage" Robert Parker "The

overall quality level was just so high that my scores and tasting notes seemed almost superfluous" Jancis Robinson

What has made 2007 so special for Southern Rhone? Firstly, a combination of precise climatic conditions. Secondly, a young generation pushing the envelope of quality and lastly the extraordinary investments that have obviously been made in the wineries.

The result? "..the vintage of a life time!" as commented by Parker.

Whilst the wines has already hit the shelves since a year ago, we felt strongly to make these wines available again. The small production (compared to Bordeaux) and especially for the top cuvees, means these wines will run out very soon. High prices are expected as demand continues and supply remains scarce.

If you have not yet, laid your hands of these wines, this is the time!

We are very pleased to be able to offer today, for the first time, the fabulous 2002 vintage of Dom Perignon. This is the most eagerly-awaited release from this legendary Champagne house since the sumptuous 1996 vintage. Those talking about it already include Robert Parker who has tasted it, but has not yet revealed his score. However, he couldn't control his excitement when commenting recently on his message board "2002 DP.....call your bank...line up the truck...September 2010 release..." Robert Parker, 29th June 2010 on the bulletin boards of eRobertParker.com. Parker's colleague Antonio Galloni has already given it a 96 point rating.

The 2002 vintage is undoubtedly one of the best that Champagne has ever experienced, with almost perfect growing conditions resulting in a wine of immense complexity and potential. This is certainly going down the books as "Legendary"!

Now, pre-order your Dom Perignon 2002 at just $195 per bottle!

Like all great vintages, prices tend to move as the wine sells out. The legendary 1996 vintage is now retailing for well over $450 per bottle.

"Nothing short of glorious..." Galardi Terra de Lavoro 2007

"Nothing short of glorious..."

Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate

Galardi has done it again with their magnificent 2007 vintage, achieving an outstanding score of 97 points, the same as its previous vintage. (2006 vintage which we offered earlier this year was totally snapped up!).

From the volcanic slopes in Campania, Galardi is a recent phenomenon among the wine enthusiasts. Their flagship - Terra di Lavoro offers extraordinary expression of the two ancient grape varieties (Aglianico & Piedirosso) and the volcanic soils on which they are grown. In fact, Robert Parker never scored this wine less than 90 points which is remarkable effort from this tiny estate. No wonder, the winery earned a spot in Parker's book "The World's Greatest Wine Estates".
