The adage “Old is Gold” holds true for vines. Old vines are deemed high in quality because they are low-yielding and produce less grape bunches and smaller berries. The resulting flavour of the wine is more concentrated as there is greater ratio of flavour-packed skin to juice.
Torbreck, established in 1994, is situated in Barossa Valley with some of the oldest vines on the planet. An overwhelming majority of Torbreck’s vines are 100-165 years old - all tended and harvested by hand. Undoubtedly, Torbreck wines possess an extraordinary combination of power, intensity, complexity and finesse.
