He is Giancarlo Pacenti, owner and winemaker of Siro PacentiWine Spectator praised him as 'the best winemaker in Brunello di Montalcino'. Robert Parker described him as 'a leader among the younger generation of producers of the region'. While Antonio Galloni attested that 'no other producer has succeeded in crafting wines of this much textural beauty and refinement'. 

For the record, there are over 250 Brunello producers.

Giancarlo Pacenti is a passionate man. So much so, the estate is focused on research and analysis. Pacenti has collaborated with the likes of University of Bordeaux and University of Florence in the area of determining optimal grape ripeness, as well as in identifying different biotypes in a grape.
